Join us to Launch ‘Our Catchments Our Communities’ Projects

The Port Phillip & Westernport Catchment Management Authority is proud to be launching three projects that have secured funding from the Victorian Government’s Our Catchments Our Communities initiative.

These are very exciting projects with numerous partners. Stakeholders and community members are welcome to join the partners at the launches as we kick off the projects.

‘Restoring the natural glory of Jacksons Creek at Sunbury’ project

Funds secured: $300,000
Launch: Monday 24 April, 2.30pm-2.30pm

This project will establish a nature link along Jacksons Creek between the Emu Bottom Wetlands and Salesian College on the edge of Sunbury and aims to remove pest plants and animals; establish new native vegetation to link; strengthen existing habitat and help local animals.

‘Transforming the Dandenong Creek corridor into a world-class urban Living Link’ project

Funds secured: $1 million
Launch: Friday 28 April, 12.15pm-1.15pm (with 2.4km walk prior from 11am)

This project will undertake a range of on-ground works to enhance and connect green spaces in a 22km corridor of the Dandenong Creek between Bayswater North and Dandenong to enhance local flora and fauna, help threatened species and improve water quality.

‘Greens Bush to Arthurs Seat biolink’ project

Funds secured: $300,000
Launch: Saturday 29 March, 2.30pm-3.30pm

This project will re-establish a connection between Greens Bush and Arthurs Seat with weed/pest control, fencing and revegetation across 16-18 private properties, bringing to life the exciting vision of the local landholders and the Mornington Peninsula Landcare Network.
