$421,000 in community grants awards to Landcare and community groups

78 Landcare groups and networks and community organisations have received a share of $421,000 in funding undertake vital environmental projects in the Port Phillip and Western Port region.

The funding was awarded as part of Victorian Government’s Victorian Landcare Grants Program and the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program and was provided through the Port Phillip and Westernport CMA’s 2017-18 Community Grants Program.

In 2017-18 $171,000 from the Victorian Landcare Grants program and $250,000 from the National Landcare Program was allocated to the grants program.

Grant recipients

22 organisations received project grants to undertake projects that protect, restore or enhance priority landscapes and 56 Landcare groups and networks were provided group support/start-up grants of $500 to assist with their running costs.
