The Port Phillip & Westernport CMA is holding its 2017 ‘Knowledge Banquet’ on Monday 15 May from 9.30am-3.30pm at Zinc, Federation Square.
It promises to be a fantastic day of knowledge-sharing and networking, featuring a mouth-watering array of speakers and topics that will be of high interest to environmental and natural resource managers, planners, scientists and practitioners from Councils, government bodies, NGOs, Landcare, etc.
Topics and speakers
- How to establish better relationships and partnerships with local politicians in environmental programs – by John Thwaites (former Deputy Premier and Minister for Water and Environment) and Gregory Andrews (Australian Government Threatened Species Commissioner)
- Inspiring modern, large and diverse communities to get involved in environmental programs – by Tanya Ha (environmental campaigner and science communicator) and Tabatha Fulker (Executive Director, OrganiseUs)
- Packaging environmental stories so they could get more traction in mainstream and social media – by Jon Faine (774 ABC Melbourne presenter) and Damien Willoughby (social media specialist)
- The potential to harness ‘celebrity’ to help increase profile and audiences for environmental programs – by Rod Quantock (a very funny man and passionate environmental activist)
Victorian Minister for Water, Hon. Lisa Neville MP, will open the banquet.
The Knowledge Banquet is $140.
