The Port Phillip and Westernport CMA plays a key role in the coordination and administration of environmental funding within the Port Phillip and Westernport region.
The Authority coordinates Australian, Victorian, partner contributions and private sector investment and delivers it to priority environmental programs within the region. The Authority also monitors and evaluates the environmental impact of these contributions and reports on environmental outcomes.
The Port Phillip and Westernport CMA's role includes the administration and delivery of funding from the Australian Government's Caring for our Country program and Victorian Government's Victorian Investment Framework within our region.
The Authority also works in partnership with Melbourne Water to delivery the Port Phillip and Westernport CMA/Melbourne Water Community Grants. These grants are run every year and provide the opportunity for community groups and councils to gain funding to help improve the health of land, biodiversity and water resources in the Port Phillip and Western Port region.
