Grow West: a major project of the Port Phillip and Westernport Catchment Management Authority
Grow West is a project to rehabilitate degraded farm land west of Melbourne. This involves a range of approaches including tree-planting, education, improving farming techniques and adoption of alternative land uses.
You can transform degraded, uneconomic land into productive and sustainable businesses.
The Grow West project region. See the detailed map for more information.
You can renovate a landscape of degraded land, scarred by soil erosion and salinity, and infested with rabbits and noxious weeds.
You can reverse the economic and environmental burdens caused by these problems.
But not on your own.
You can play a part.
- Landholders - Have your land replanted with native vegetation
- See information on our Biodiversity Plantings here
- Businesses - You can provide crucial support by sponsoring materials, trees, machinery, labour, technical advice or competitively priced professional services.
- Schools and community groups - Join in a tree-planting day, measure and evaluate our program for your research project or encourage local awareness and support.
