The Port Phillip and Westernport CMA would like to congratulate winners of the 2009 Victorian Landcare Awards from within the Port Phillip and Western Port region, and indeed all the winners from throughout Victoria, for their achievements and contribution in protecting and restoring our environment.
The awards were held today at Government House in Melbourne and celebrated the contribution that our Heroes of the Environment are making to their local environments. Professor David de Kretser presented the awards.

John Robinson, Melbourne
Of particular note was the People’s Choice Award, decided by public vote, won this year by John Robinson, a former staff member of the Port Phillip and Westernport CMA and one of the strongest advocates for the landcare movement within the state. John last year travelled to Virginia US as a winner of the Virginia Landcare Fellowship and shared his knowledge with Virginia University personnel and local landcarers during his visit.
