$2 million to protect the Dandenong Ranges
16 February 2015
Today, the Federal Minister for the Environment, Greg Hunt, and the Federal Member for La Trobe, Jason Wood, announced the opening of the $2 million Dandenong Ranges Environmental and Bushfire Reduction Community Grants. The grants are part of a $3 million dollar commitment from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program being coordinated by the PPWCMA.
The grants will provide funding to undertake important work in the Dandenongs including weed and feral animal control, planting of native vegetation, and activities to reduce the bushfire fuel load. The grants are now open and will close on the 10th of April. Community groups and collaborative partnerships are encouraged to apply for a share in the $2 million.
