Intrepid Landcare, in partnership with PPWCMA and Western Port Catchment Landcare Network, is hosting a leadership retreat to inspire and empower young people in the Western Port Catchment to step up and lead on matters that are important to the local community and themselves.

The Intrepid Landcare Leadership Retreat has been delivered across eastern states in Australia, resulting in highly motivated teams of young people who go out and do stuff that matters with Landcare. Intrepid Landcare will kick-start in Western Port in June 2018 with a weekend retreat for passionate young people!

About the retreat

The retreat is open to anyone aged 16 years – 35 years, who is up for making a difference and having some damn good fun doing it. The retreat will be held at Gilwell Park Scout Camp in Gembrook from Saturday 9th June – Monday 11th June.

There is an epic line up of activities including connecting to the local environment, meeting local legends, and inspiring young speakers doing great stuff for the environment. Hiking, Indigenous cultural activities, Landcare activities, leadership and personal development training, and more!

This event is perfect for young adventurous souls who love the environment and are keen to do stuff that matters. Application to attend is essential, as there are limited spots.

How to get involved

To attend the retreat, young people need to apply online. Applications close 28th May (midnight).

All catering, accommodation and a carefully packaged leadership & personal development program tailored to meet the needs of young people passionate about the environment. So Intrepid Landcare ask that you take this commitment seriously before applying. You must be able to attend the entire weekend (8:30am Saturday 9th June – 12pm Monday 11th June). Intrepid Landcare can help facilitate transport if you do not have private transport, and will do their best to assist with any other needs you might have, just let us know what they are.

To apply and for more details visit

This retreat is supported by PPWCMA, through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program, but successful applicants will be asked to make a contribution of $50 per person to go towards an exciting future fund investing in projects and initiatives you are passionate about. This is a pay-it-forward kind of concept, guided by you! But should you have limitations in covering this cost, please let Intrepid Landcare know as they do not want this stopping you from applying or attending.
