The Port Phillip & Westernport CMA are proud to support a Spring Environmental Training Week, hosted by the Yarra Ranges Council, at Box Hill TAFE (Lilydale Campus).

The 4 day course will run from Monday 19th September – Thursday 22nd September.

Monday, 19 September 2016 | 09:00AM to 04:00PM
Day 1 – Introduction to Weeds and Plants – 19 September
Learn the basics to identify weeds and about native and indigenous plant species.
Includes: What is an Ecological Vegetation Class (EVC)

Day 2 – Advanced Weeds & Plants + treatment use – 20 September
Explore the biology of plants and learn the best way to manage weeds on larger properties.
Includes: Managing larger sites and best methods

Day 3 – Animals (threatened and pest animals) – 21 September
Come along and learn about the characteristics of pest and threatened animals in Yarra Ranges and find out what management practices are used.
Includes: Deer, Foxes, Rabbits and Indian Mynas

Day 4 – Ecological Surveying/ Land Management – 22 September
Learn some of the techniques used to survey plants and animals and hear what considerations are taken into account by land managers.
Includes: Ecological surveying techniques and Land management considerations

Cost is $20 per day and morning tea and lunch is included.
