The Little River Community Landcare had its first meeting as a newly formed Landcare group on Tuesday 6th February at Little River Hall.
The new Landcare logo for the group was revealed with a membership form and the purpose and aims were discussed.
Little River Community Landcare agreed to host a clean up of the Little River in March and discussed the matter of Tiger Pear and the possibility of looking for funding to help tackle the serious weed threat. Tiger Pear is a highly invasive weed with savage spines that is spreading along the Little River.
Well done to the executive and the members for kicking off with a great level of interest and activity. Peter Hield (LRCLG President) said he would like to encourage the community to participate in their first event.
“Our group is participating in ‘Clean-up Australia Day’ on 4th March, aiming to remove litter in the area around the Little River town and approaches. All are welcome!”
