PPWCMA congratulates Australia Day honour recipients

The PPWCMA is thrilled to see a number of people awarded an Australia Day Honour that we have connections with.

Congratulations on their new Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) to:
• Liz Barraclough who has been involved with the Balcombe Estuary Rehabilitation Group, Balcombe and Moorooduc Landcare Group and the Devilbend Foundation
• Cam Beardsell who has been a Ranger with Parks Victoria in the Warrandyte area and author of the NEROC Report which is the basis for Nillumbik Councils’ Environmental Significance Overlay
• Dr Brian Cuming who has been a great advocate for the environment of the Western Port area in many forums
• Alison Teese who has been involved in many state-wide Landcare and environmental policy forums including as a member for many years of the Victorian Catchment Management Council
• Allan Thomson who made a great contribution to the health of some of Melbourne’s wonderful creeks as a founder of the Merri Creek Coordinating Committee and the Friends of Moonee Ponds Creek.

And congratulations on being awarded a Public Service Medal (PSM) to:
• Frank Mickan who has been a long-standing Dairy Extension Officer based at Ellinbank and an expert at lifting hay, silage and pasture quality
• Graeme Turner who has made a great contribution to sustainable and productive water management for the towns and farms of Victoria.
