Do you want to get involved in your local environment?

Yarra4Life is seeking nominations from the community to join the Yarra4Life Coordination Committee.

The Yarra4Life program is located in the Yarra River catchment approx. 50km north east of Melbourne. Yarra4Life is a large scale, practical response to manage and reduce the pressures on native plants & animals, and waterways of the Yarra Valley. It brings together local community and all levels of government with a shared mission to retain the Yarra Valley as a great place to live, work and visit. This project focuses on increasing the quality, extent and connectivity of habitat across the landscape.

The Yarra4Life Coordination Committee brings community members together with representatives from the Port Phillip & Westernport Catchment Management Authority, Yarra Ranges and Cardinia Councils, Parks Victoria, Melbourne Water, Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Victorian National Parks Association, Wurundjeri Council, Trust for Nature, Conservation Volunteers Australia, Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater, Friends of the Leadbeater’s Possum, and various landcare & community groups.

The Yarra4Life Coordination Committee positions are volunteer positions.  They are for a three-year term with meetings held four times a year.

Nominate for the Coordination Committee and help create a better, greener future for Melbourne’s eastern landscapes. Nominations close Wednesday 7 June 2017.
